Kemper Through Peavey Nashville 400??
Hey,
Doing a guitar gig tomorrow, where I need the profiles and effects on my Kemper Stage. Unfortunately, my powered Kab is in the shop, but there will be a Peavey Nashville 400 for me to use. Has anyone tried that combo? Usable? I would assume I should go through the effects loop in, as I have on some other amps?
It's a big venue with good sound, so I'll really just need it as a monitor for myself and the band. I'm mostly curious if anyone else has done it, and your experiences.
Thanks! - Jim

I use Fractal instead of Kemper, but I typically just rely on a monitor mix (wedge or IEMs) or, if I don't trust that it will be sufficient, I bring a powered FRFR 1x12 monitor. But if I had to use a 'guitar amp', yes I'd plug into the FX return and I'd disable the power amp/speaker/mic modelling in the modeller.

I hope it works out for you but I discovered on my Nashville 400 that the mid control still had an effect on the tone when I used a modeler into the power amp in on back of the amp. I don't know if they all are like this but I was under the impression it would bypass the preamp. Not sure why it doesn't.

Thanks, Larry........I would've assumed it did, as well. Did you find any other input or setting worked better (with that amp)?Larry Dering wrote: 29 Mar 2025 7:36 pm I hope it works out for you but I discovered on my Nashville 400 that the mid control still had an effect on the tone when I used a modeler into the power amp in on back of the amp. Just to follow up, I did the gig tonight and the PV worked out well. Larry, I wasn't able to mess around with the controls much (multiband on and off gig), but I plugged in and it sounded great, so I was happy. WAY more than enough headroom. Thanks for the help, all.

Great to hear that. I don't remember what all I tried on my Nashville 400, I was just surprised on the EQ having any effect on a power amp in plug. I need to do some additional testing. It's an old amp I bought last year and everything is stock. I pulled the amp board and cleaned all the pots last year. Otherwise it works fine on it's own.
