Basic home studio with steel in NJ, Brooklyn or NYC?

Post by Matt Dawson »

Our band is in the middle of recording a CD which has to be finished by end of August. I couldnt finish my parts because I'm leaving for the US tomorrow. I'm looking for someone with a small studio (NJ, Brooklyn or NYC area) where I could record a couple of parts. I would bring wave file of the 2 songs and then record my parts onto wave files (dry, straight into the desk, no compression, no effects) which I would email back to the engineer for him to add effects & fly into the tracks. It would need to be someone who owns a basic E9 steel (Emmons set-up, I once tried Day setup, but I found putting a cowboy-boot on backwards to be uncomfortable :)
I'll be staying in South Orange/Maplewood area from 13th to 20th August. Of course I don't expect it to be free, but I really don't need a professional studio to do this. Just a guy with Cubase or Cakewalk and a playable steel.
