Reverend Jeremiah "Jerry" Hanley

Post by Michael McGee »

I have received the sad news that Jeremiah "Jerry" Hanley, a beloved member of our steel community here in the Ozarks, has passed away. No other details are available to me at this time. Jerry was a mighty man of God. We shared a passion for the steel guitar and a passion for Jesus. I send love and prayers to Venda and their family. Jerry, I will see you afterwhile, and until then, the memories will all be wonderful.

I was thinking of Jeremiah just a couple of days ago. It may be bad luck for me to think of people.

He was a fine man, a gentleman with a heart of gold. He and Venda did more than their fair share for the Ozark Steel Guitar association.

Just heard about this yesterday from my friend Keith Hilton. It was a blessing to have known Jerry. I always enjoyed hearing him and Venda play music and sing together and his Sunday services were so good. he will be greatly missed.

When I first started hosting my Annual Steel Guitar Shows, I had no idea what I was doing. It was good people like Jerry and Venda Hanley who helped to encourage and support my efforts. I consider it a great honor to have known them and have them perform and be at my Steel Guitar Shows. Jerry and Venda Hanley were and remain a loving and kind duo. They loved and served the Lord Jesus Christ. Jerry has been called home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We send our sympathy, and prayers to Venda, the family and their many friends. Terry, Jolene and Zane Wood.
