To me, the real thing sounds pretty fake already, with autotune and no sense of any humans playing real instruments, so how can the fake fake be any worse?

There is a Youtube channel named JWO that is certainly AI music. All the singers' voices have funny sound to them that I can tell isn't real. There are both men and women singing and none of the songs are any that I've heard before. The pictures of the artists are too crisp and perfect to be real. Heck, several of the pictures show people's hands that have 6 fingers holding the guitar neck. Many people are ignorant and posting how good the music and singing is. There are probably 60-80 videos on the channel. Check it out and tell us what you think.

Rick Beato posted a commentary on faked performances yesterday. In his video, Rick also recommends the video that Chris just posted.

Excuse me! I should have credited Rick Beato for the link.
He's who led me to the link.

Chris, I had seen Beato's video post, but hadn't checked the Adam Neely video that he recommended. Your post got me to watch it. It's long, but he makes a lot of good points.

I think that your original topic of "Fake AI generated music" is a subset of the "fake performances" topic. Both are getting out of hand now. I'm not a fan of either.
