Anyone use Peavey Nashville 400 amps?
I have a friend who owns a Nashville 400 amp. On his amp, he hears a pop sound when turning off and on the amp. I dont play with those amps, but I did own one years ago-mine popped too as I remembered.
This this a common thing with the Nashville 400?
Thanks

All of mine had a power up thump. I think that's just what they do.

There was a post on the Forum many years ago asking a similar question.
As I recall, nobody was able to find a Nashville 400 that did not pop when it was turned on. It was deemed normal and just one of the interesting, harmless features of that amp. Mine certainly pops, and it's pretty loud!

Completely normal. I have owned 2 of them and they both did it. I still play my 1984 NV400. I have heard it referred to as the "Peavey Pop".
Carter D10 8p/7k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup, Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112, Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open G slide and regular G tuning guitar) .
Playing for 55 years and still counting.

Thanks all for the responses. I think we'll leave the on/off popping sound alone and call it normal.
