You do beautiful work!Mike DiAlesandro wrote: 19 Oct 2025 5:14 am It must be the time of year that all ZB S-11's start to come out of hibernation... lol
Working on this guy, found in an abandoned building in Oklahoma... needed lots of love. Once the kitchen cabinet yellow paint was removed, the original cabinet revealed a major crack across the front apron, which required a new piece of hardwood maple and inlay.

Super work on rebuilding that ZB cabinet Mike DiAlesandro! That paint and stick-on stuff you peeled off it was really nasty. I agree with Colin, It's sure looking stunningly great now!

Thank you Colin and Brian, it's well worth the effort to save another ZB, in particular an 11 stringer...

Anybody have a looooose idea of a year on the S-11 I picked up and posted photos of a couple posts back?
S-11 with 0021 SN - Bakersfield on the logo.
I was starting to get it dialed in (still learning the ZB mechanisms but poking thru the 100+ pages on here and other related posts was yielding gold) but I had to go on a trip that has me out of town for over a week. Dying to keep trying to get it all tweaked before I call in an expert.

#0021 was of course built in Bakersfield. It was the 21st guitar built in 1969. Tom Brumley had just bought the company from Zane Beck. Zane came to California to help them get underway. Those parts and possibly the body were all built in Scranton, PA when Zane had the company there before Tom bought it. That decal/logo is pretty scarce. They only used it for a very short time in 1969 before they switched to the latest rectangular logo. I'm sure that guitar sounds like a million bucks!!!!
