CSB is not music, and I guess for the uninitiated bears no relationship. But here's Dale hosting CSB (I mean he's actually playing music) at The Little Longhorn Saloon, I believe back when he owned it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpwrwqPk33U
We played a gig this year when the 'opening act' was CSB. We were very happy that they had the whole setup on a platform that they just carried off the stage wholesale before we set up. This is Pennsylvania, not Texas, ha! But then there's James Carville's description of Pennsylvania - Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Mississippi (or Alabama, depending on what day he said it) in the middle.
Chicken Shit Bingo is still going on every Sunday at Jenny's.
People around here love it. Jake Penrod plays it sometimes. I don't know if Dale still plays it. He and his partner had a falling out and the partner bought him out.
It is a small place with lots of history.
Just north of the Weird place, south of Georgetown
Dale split Chicken Shit Bingo off from Little Longhorn (somehow) and there's now a competing event every Sunday with the Derailers at C'Boys on South Congress. Only in Austin would you get rival Chicken Shit Bingos.
Dale bought and renovated a club in Memphis with a lot of history and mojo to it. Hernando's Hideaway. They bring in really good touring artists, serve Lone Star, and have tasty burgers and BBQ too. They'll do CSB on Sundays.
Dale's band in Memphis consists of resident professionals including Mario Monterosso on standard guitar. Piano and sax typically accompany along with upright bass and drums, but no steel yet. The band recorded an instrumental album about a year ago. It's got the rockabilly of Sun, the R&B of Stax, and the country Starday and I really dig it.
