Repairing Jerry Kennedy's 1950 Martin 00-18

Post by Frank Freniere »

Interesting video about Jerry Kennedy's long-lost Martin 00-18.

One of the albums Jerry produced for Roger Miller was 1970's "A Trip In The Country," a Buddy Emmons E9 (mostly) tour de force.

Really interesting, Frank. This guitar really looks great now, after all the repair. Also the father and son relation is very moving.
Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube.

Nice find Frank - I’ve been a fan of Jerry Kennedy and his son Gordon for many years.

Historically taking a vintage Martin like that and giving it a complete renewal job is considered sacrilege, but the guitar had really been through the ringer in its 70+ years of existence and it needed it.

They really know their stuff at Martin - you don’t stay in business for 189 years by accident.
