Yamaha steinberg UR22 INTERFACE.

Hi steelers,
My Yamaha steinberg UR22 INTERFACE won't connect to my laptop any more.I have tried all the drivers on the official site,no luck so far.I have had the unit for 20 years this is the first time this has happened.All advise any is appreciated.

I am running win 10,I am researching a few youtube tutorials. I haven't run thoughs ideas yet.

OK..

I'm using the UR44 in Win10. If you haven't checked, go into your Win 10 sound settings ( settings/system/sound) and see if the UR22 appears as an option on the input & output settings.

Perhaps the settings got reset back to the PC's internal sound card instead of the external interface.

Let me know what you find.

I should also ask, what DAW are you using and can the DAW "see" the interface as an option in settings?

First delete all of the Yamaha drivers you've installed. Restart Windows to flush out any residual stuff that might still be in Windows. Then try having Windows 10 automatically find and install a driver.

With Windows up and running at idle plug the Yamaha interface into a USB port. Windows 10 will ask the interface to identify itself. Then Windows 10 will check the drivers it already has to see if any matches. If Windows 10 sees a matching it will automatically install the driver. Note: the driver may not display the Yamaha name, it may display something like "human interface" or "audio interface".

If Windows 10 doesn't have a matching driver then it will ask permission to find one on the internet. Say Yes.
