Really fascinating analysis by Aimee Nolte, who makes some very well explained video content about music.

Jo Stafford singing Shenandoah over Paul Weston's string arrangement gets me every time.

It's amazing the power music has to evoke emotion. For me thats always been Gospel Music. There's something about those type of harmonies that give me the goosebumps :D ... It very rare that other types of music do that to me, though it has happened. I suspect it has to do with some dissonance or resonance that certain harmonies produce. Even when my wife is singing some Gospel song as a duet, the way their voices match and the resonance they produce together gets me every time.

Would be interesting to understand the science behind all that.

It's not so much science, it's more about the message that gospel songs relay. :)
